Planning your wedding day timeline to ensure there is plenty of time for all of the photographs you want captured on your big day is one of the best things you can do to ensure your day goes flawlessly and is completely stress free. When in doubt, leaving yourself plenty of time and padding ensures we can adapt to any unforeseen delays. Below is recommend time needed for photography to document key elements of your love story!

Wedding Party

* Ideal Time Allotment – 30 minutes
* Ideal Location – Bridal Suite or Hotel Suite

* Advice – Having at least 30 minutes for details ensures that we have plenty of time to get that perfect photo of the dress, rings, shoes, bouquets, and the other details of the day.

Getting Ready

day of timeline:

* Ideal Time Allotment – -60 minutes
* Ideal Time of the Day – Before the Ceremony and During Sunset
* Advice – The first look and couples session should be around 60-minutes combined. The first look will take about 10-15 minutes, and the rest of the time will be spent on couples portraits. The time should ideally be broken up into 45 minutes before the ceremony and 20-30 minutes during sunset to capture the beautiful golden hour light. Please note, if you have a videographer they may want additional time to capture specific shots as well.

* Advice – This time can be broken up before and after the ceremony if you will not be doing a first look. During this time, we get tons of fun shots, of everyone together, then the ladies and gents separately. If timing allows I love to capture both the bride and groom with each one of their bridesmaids or groomsmen individually.

The Couple

day of timeline:

* Ideal Time Allotment – 30 to 45 minutes
* Ideal Time of the Day – Morning or Afternoon before the ceremony. If you are not doing a first look, I recommend capturing the ladies and gents separately before the ceremony.

* Ideal Time Allotment – 10 minutes

Advice – Please allow 10 minutes for the second shooter to take pictures of the ceremony site, completely set up with no guests or vendors in the area.

The Ceremony

day of timeline:

Ceremony times vary on the type of ceremony!

Cultural weddings with longer ceremonies and pre wedding events, such as baraat's or tea ceremonies should be planned for accordingly. Please inquire for specific recommendations.

Family Formals

day of timeline:

*Ideal Time Allotment – 20-30-minutes
*Ideal Time of the Day – Directly after the Ceremony
*Ideal Location – Ceremony Site
Advice – Formals should take around 15 to 30 minutes depending on the size of your family and the amount of groupings you would like photographed. Creating a list of which groups you would like photographed and communicating to those family members to stay at the ceremony site is a great way to ensure we use our time wisely. Assigning a helper on each side to be the leader/director for that side of the family is also very helpful.

Reception

day of timeline:

* Ideal Time Allotment – You want to make sure you have photo coverage throughout all of the scheduled programing, such as First Dance, Toasts, Bouquet and Garter Toss, and Cake Cutting. After that, typically 45 minutes to an hour of dancing is sufficient to capture the PARTY!

* Advice – If you will be doing a Grand Exit, then you will need coverage until the end of night.
